Please come up with one sentence that says why Elvira matters, to you, to the world beyond you, whatever.
Since I like to throw other people into the deep end of the pool while risking nothing myself, I won't attempt to answer the question myself at this time. Also, I'm not terribly high-functioning right now, today, so the most that I could pull off was to pose the question. I like to ask why everything matters.

[glow=red,2,300]Elvira matters in that she breaks the stereotypical boundaries of the outcast through her contradictory qualities such as: sexy/nerdy, gothic/funny, girly/strong, etc... which makes her a great unifier of people who would normally not have a common interest.[/glow] That is my sentence. Working with teenagers I understand how difficult it is to break down social cliques. I have attended a few Elvira events and her fans are so diverse; young, old, black, white, male, female, etc...

There's also cool/self-deprecating... assertive/unpretentious... the wording on that last one isn't quite right. I almost want to say ego-driven/unpretentious. Your sizing-up is so good and my brain is working so poorly this morning that I won't add anything to that right now. Except... yeah, outcasts too often can't find things in common with each other, any more than they can with the larger world, and so can't get enough solidarity from each other. People are outcasts in all sorts of different ways, and so are all different from each other. That's a down side to individuality I guess.
