How did you find out about her? I know it's sounds stupid but...did you hear of her online or when she first came out! Just curious... I think I'm the youngest person on here.

I first saw the character of Elvira in Stroker Ace at the drive-in as a child in 1983. We didn't have any sort of cable nor did I live in L.A., so I wasn't fortunate enough to catch the original Movie Macabre until much later. Although of notice, we did have our own "Local Elvira Rip-Off" named Misty Brew that hosted a show called Creature Feature every Friday night on then KBSI 23 out of Cape Girardeau before there was a FOX network and the channel became a FOX affiliate. They showed UNCUT horror films...ooohhh it was awesome.... I had a subscription to Fangoria Magazine so I saw Elvira in there several times and I saw some of her Thriller Video series. I saw her in Wrestlemainia 2 and was thusly infatuated. I saw commercials she was in and a few more movie appearances for Cassandra and Elvira here and there. When I first really, REALLY latched onto her (I wish ) was during the making of her first movie and after seeing it. I've been an avid fan ever since.

I'd write out mine but it'd take a decade to do... very long drawn out story which lead to a friendship with her starting seven years ago.

I saw an article about her in people magazine in maybe '85 and she instantly reminded me of morticia, lilly munster, etc and I thought she looked really cool. I grew up in small town iowa and we didn't have movie macabre. Soon after I saw her on bloopers and then found copies of several thriller videos at walmart, of all places. I was instantly transfixed by her humour.
soon after, the comic, the movie and she was everywhere.

By Accident really, about 1992 I guess. I knew the owner of my old local video store and she was checking out a load of older damaged tapes. One of Elviras film and then, bang, I was hooked. Living in the UK never seen her TV shows, sucks . Hoping they might get shown on a SKY channel (like Horror or Sci-Fi) or something. GMJ

I was born in Paducah and grew up in Ballard County, if you get the KBSI signal you have to be familiar with those places! Anyways, I've lived in Cape Girardeau since the late 80's and remember Misty Brew well. While I can't really claim that I knew her one of my best friends was briefly married to her sister so I have met her. She was hotter in real life than in the Misty Brew outfit if you can believe that! In the past she has wished to remain anonymous and refused all interviews. KBSI will not give you her real name if you contact them (I think she may have been stalked in the past) so I'll respect her wishes. Next time I talk to my friend who was at one time her brother-in-law I'll ask him if he still stays in touch with the family and if she's changed her mind about interviews.

All I can remember is being a little girl and thinking she was the most awesome thing on planet earth. I loved watching her, even in those goofy beer commercials. <3

Misty Brew- KBSI Creature Feature Hostess Misty Brew's show aired every Friday Night at 11pm CST, on KBSI TV 23 The Fox Affiliated Station for The Paducah, Ky/Harrisburg, IL/Cape Girardeau, Mo Television Market. Making her television debut in 1986, Misty Brew continued to host a variety of Creature Feature movie until late 1989. Misty Brew was born on October 31, 1666, making her well over the ripe old age of 300. But her ageless beauty has never changed, and still has not to this day. Thanks to her ancestors bloodline, or maybe just something special in her blood. Her signature greeting was "Good Evening Human Creatures." And she continued to surprise, invigorate and entice her audience over the years. Generating lots of fan mail from across the heartland. Misty was often accompanied by various campy co/host like Drac, Freddie, Wolifie, and her old dear friend "Frankie". Her on air personality progressed from Dark and Mystical to Wacky off the wall shtick with a Midwest flare. Her sassy jabs and pop culture heckles were a favorite of her views. Misty Brew often made personal appearances and Fan Meetings. She was a regular in local newspaper and TV Guides from the late 80s. Misty Brew's Creature Feature aired classic films like Psycho, Swamp Thing, Phantom Of The Opera, The Haunting, Theater of Blood, and the yearly Halloween Marathon.
