I sent and email to SHoutFactory about Castle of Freaks and they claimed Cassandra Peterson gave them the "right" amount of segments for the movie. They didn't get specific if they knew anything was cut or not. But considering the fact they not only is Breather's joke edited out but the SHORT JOKES during the movie are NOT included, someone is at fault.
If you watch the DVD Elvira will answer the phone and wait, then it fades out. That seems like an original taped scene. So the Breather joke must have been recorded a different time. Then they cut it in later. So if SHOUT just adds in her scenes they weren't given the full Breather Segment. But if it was a "RIGHTS" issue they shouldn't have included the John Paragon as the Breather credit at the end and show his likeness. Very weird!

I received a response from Shout Factory today in reference to a request I had sent. My note as well as their response are as follows: Subject: Elvira's Movie Macabre
Hello, I am writing in reference to Elvira's Movie Macabre. I have purchased all of the Movie Macabre single DVD's and double feature DVD's. I have to say I have enjoyed these DVD's and am interested in other episodes. Are there any plans to release additional Movie Macabre episodes anytime in the near future? I personally would like to see The Mad Magician (in 3D), Pigs, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, Bloodbath, The Godsend, and Monstroid released on Movie Mac DVD. Thank you for your time. <Their response> Thanks Scott! I've forwarded this message to our producers on that set. Stay tuned!

I just thought of something... There is a very good chance that all the Breather footage could easily be on other masters in John Paragons possesion. Which might explain that... I'm still working on getting an answer on this.

I just thought of something... There is a very good chance that all the Breather footage could easily be on other masters in John Paragons possesion. Which might explain that... I'm still working on getting an answer on this. Well I think some of the footage of Elvira was reshot when episodes went into syndication. I've seen a syndicated copy of Devil's Wedding Night where the whole last segment was obviously filmed for the syndication so it was shot a couple of years after the original airing. So maybe Cassandra Peterson owns the original shows and someone else owns the Syndicated versions. Of course this doesn't explain why Peterson's original copies are edited at all.

Finally got my copies (they came out a bit later in Canada) and I have to say I'm thoroughly enjoying them. 100% totally agree with the disappointment over the Breather segment...when the phone rang I sat right up and was so excited, then....well u all know...like someone already said, it can't be a rights issue because they show him during the credits which just made me more disappointed because it proved that they cut it out...anyway, besides that I couldn't be happier...please someone find out when more are to come because as soon as I'm done watching these it's back to be tormented by waiting for more!!!

Any more info on the omision of John Paragon from the dvd's? I was surprised to learn that John and Cassandra are now longer friends - I know they were once extremely close. That's a shame.

The word is there will be 16 more episodes of Movia Macabre released this year.
I hope they don't have Elvira's clips edited on the new dvds. Especially the breather segments and the BRIEF break ins Elvira did on some of the movies.
Wonder what the episodes will be. Four of the movies left in the Public Domain that she showed should be included this time out. "Horror Express, House of the Dead (1978), Alien Contamination and Silent Night Bloody Night".

You can't just edit out all the Breather bits and still have MM, if that's what they have in mind.

Amazon.com now has the second round of Elvira's Movie Macabre available for pre-order. There is very limited information other than: Elvira's Movie macabre 2-pack #1 Elvira's Movie macabre 2-pack #2 Elvira's Movie macabre 2-pack #3 Elvira's Movie macabre 2-pack #4 available August 7th, 2007
According to Shout! Factory's message board the following titles are listed as the new releases*: Blue Sunshine Gamera, Super Monster The House That Screamed Maneater Of Hydra Monstroid They Came From Beyond Space *note: I am not sure of the reliability of the source of these titles. Also there are only 6 titles listed so if these are correct then two are not yet listed. Check Shoutfactory.com and search Elvira.
